Miley Cyrus - We Can't Stop

We Can't Stop is a song by American recording artist Miley Cyrus, taken from her upcoming fourth studio album. It was released on June 3, 2013, by RCA Records as thelead single from the album. The song was written by Cyrus, Rock CityMike WiLL Made Itand produced by the latter.

"We Can't Stop" is a R&B, urban pop track with a length of three minutes and fifty-two seconds. It is written in the key of E major and Cyrus' vocals span two octaves, from a low D# to a high F#. It follows the chord progression E—G#m—C#m—A. The song starts with a distorted voice singing the first verses, then Cyrus' vocals begin followed by the keyboard chords. The pre-chorus and the chorus are accompanied with heavy beats. Miley admits that the single says "where I am in my life right now". John Kennedy of Vibe compared the song to Rihanna's style of songs.
The lyrics of the song talk about a party, such as, "This is our house/ This is our rules and we can't stop/ And we won't stop". Cyrus also sings encouraging verses like "Only God can judge us". There has been speculation that the songwriting has drug references when listeners thought one of the lines said "We like to party/ Dancing with Molly" - "Molly" is a slang term for ecstasy. However, the producer Mike WiLL Made It confirmed that she sings "Dancing with Miley", not "Molly".

LYRICS:
It’s our party we can do what we want
It’s our party we can say what we want
It’s our party we can love who we want
We can kiss who we want
We can see who we want (2x)

Red cups and sweaty bodies everywhere
Hands in the air like we don’t care
Cause we came to have so much fun now
Got somebody here might get some now

If you’re not ready to go home
Can I get a hell no
Cause we gonna go all night
Till we see the sunlight alright

So la da di da di, we like to party
Dancing with Miley
Doing whatever we want
This is our house
This is our rules
And we can’t stop
And we won’t stop
Can’t you see it’s we who own the night
Can’t you see it we who bout’ that life
And we can’t stop
And we won’t stop
We run things, Things don’t run we
We don't take nothing from nobody

It’s our party we can do what we want
It’s our party we can say what we want
It’s our party we can love who we want
We can kiss who we want
We can see who we want

To my homegirls here with the big butts
Shaking it like we at a strip club
Remember only God can judge us
Forget the haters cause somebody loves ya
And everyone in line in the bathroom
Trying to get a line in the bathroom
We all so turnt up here
Getting turnt up yea yea

So la da di da di, we like to party
Dancing with Miley
Doing whatever we want
This is our house
This is our rules
And we can’t stop
And we won’t stop
Can’t you see it’s we who own the night
Can’t you see it we who bout’ that life
And we can’t stop
And we won’t stop
We run things
Things don’t run we
We don't take nothing from nobody

It’s our party we can do what we want
It’s our party we can say what we want
It’s our party we can love who we want
We can kiss who we want
We can see who we want

It’s our party we can do what we want to
It’s our house we can love who we want to
It’s our song we can sing if we want to
It’s my mouth I can say what I want to
Yea, Yea, Yeah

And we can’t stop
And we won’t stop
Can’t you see it’s we who own the night
Can’t you see it we who bout’ that life
And we can’t stop
And we won’t stop
We run things
Things don’t run we
We don't take nothing from nobody
Yea, Yea, Yea

Macklemore & Ryan Lewis feat Ray Dalton - Can't Hold Us

Can't Hold Us is a song by American rapper Macklemore and producer Ryan Lewis from their collaborative album The Heist (2012). Featuring singer Ray Dalton, it was released as the third single from the album on August 16, 2011. The song also features additional vocals by actress Susannah Wetzel, who sings portions of the chorus alongside Dalton.
The song peaked at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100, making it their second number one hit in the United States. It's also their third consecutive number-one single in Australia. In early 2013, the song was re-released and featured in a U.S. television commercial for Microsoft's Outlook.com webmail service and in commercials for the drink Miller. The song was also used in the background of ESPN College Gameday commercials and in the March 2013 premiere episode of MTV's The Real World: Portland. The radio edit cuts out portions of the introduction, as well as the extended bridge section and an alternate beat during the last chorus. The beat is similar to their live performances of the song.

Due to the major international success of the duo's "Thrift Shop" there was a resurgence in sales of their previous singles and their album "The Heist". The song debuted in the UK Singles Chart at number 187 on March 17, 2013, climbing up to number 53 the following week. In Australia, "Can't Hold Us" became Macklemore & Ryan Lewis' third consecutive number one single, reaching the top of the chart on March 25, 2013, after "Thrift Shop" and "Same Love". In the United States, the song became a sleeper hit, and following a performance of the song on Saturday Night Live, the song cracked the top 10 at number 7, becoming the group's second top 10 hit, following the number-one single "Thrift Shop". "Can't Hold Us" reached number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 during the week dated May 17, 2013. They became the first duo to place their two debut singles atop the chart. They also became the fifth act to place their two debut singles atop the Billboard Hot 100, following Mariah Carey with "Vision of Love" and "Love Takes Time", Christina Aguilera with "Genie in a Bottle" and "What a Girl Wants", Lady Gaga with "Just Dance" and "Poker Face" and Bruno Mars with "Just the Way You Are" and "Grenade". As of May 2013, the song has sold 2 million copies in the United States.

LYRICS:

Return of the Mack - get up
What it is, what it does, what it is, what it isn’t
Looking for a better way to get up out of bed
Instead of getting on the internet and checking a new hit
We get up, fresh out, pimp strut walking
Little bit of humble, little bit of cautious
Somewhere between like, Rocky and Cosby, Sweater Gang
Nope, Nope. y’all can’t copy that
Bad, moonwalkin', This here, is our party
My posse's been on broadway, and we did it our way
Grown music
I shed my skin and put my bones into everything I record to it
And yet I’m on
Let that stage light go and shine on down
Got the Bob Barker suit game and Plinko in my style
Money
Stay on my craft and stick around for those pounds
But I do that to pass the torch and put on for my town
Trust me, on my I-N-D-E-P-E-N-D-E-N-T shit hustling
Chasing dreams since I was 14
With the 4 track, bussing
Halfway cross that city with the backpack, fat cat, crush shit
Labels out here, nah they can’t tell me nothing
We give it to the people, spread it across the country
Labels out here, nah they can’t tell me nothing
We give it to the people, spread it across the country

[Hook x2 Ray Dalton]
And then we go back, this is the moment
Tonight is the night, we’ll fight till it’s over
So we put our hands up like the ceiling can’t hold us
Like the ceiling can’t hold us

[Verse 2: Macklemore]
Now, can I kick it? Thank you
Yeah I’m so damn grateful
I grew up really wanting gold fronts
But that’s what you get when Wu-Tang raised you
Y’all can’t stop me, I go hard like I've got an 808 in my heart beat
And I’m eating at the beat
Like you gave a little speed to a great white shark on shark week
(Why? Time to go off. Gone)? Deuces, goodbye
I've got a world to see;
And my girl, She wanna see Rome
Caesar'll make you a believer
Nah, I never ever did it for a throne
That validation comes
So I'm giving it back to the people now
Sing that song and it goes like...
Raise those hands, this is our party
We came here to live life like nobody was watching
I got my city right behind me;
If I fall they got me
Learn from that failure, gain humility
Then we keep marching, I said

[Hook x2 Ray Dalton]

[Brïdge]
And all my people say'
"Na na NAna na naNA na"

[Hook x2 Ray Dalton]

will.i.am feat Justin Bieber - #thatPower

#thatPower is a song by American recording artist will.i.am, taken from his fourth studio album, #willpower. Featuring Justin Bieber, the song was written by will.i.am, Damien Leroy (known as DJ Ammo) and Bieber; the producers were will.i.am and DJ Ammo. The song was released in the United States and Canada on March 18, 2013, via Interscope Records, as the fourth single from the album. The song has since charted in several countries. A special version of the song is used for 2013 NBA Playoffs telecasts on ESPN and ABC.

"#thatPower" opened to mixed reviews from music critics. E.E. Bradman wrote for Common Sense Media, "This one's all about the club: With its uptempo four-on-the-floor bass and kick assault, repeated choruses, and surging synths, "#thatPower" sounds and feels more like a remix than the first iteration of a new song."The Daily Star's John Earls rated it 8 out of 10 and commended Bieber's guest appearance in the song, saying that "it’s worth swivelling your chair around, Voice style, among Will’s predictable rave malarkey...#savedbythebieber." Jody Rosen of Rolling Stone called the song "a wan melody warbled by Bieber over generic 4/4 beats" and gave it two out of five stars, ending his review with "#FAIL."

Taylor Swift - 22

22 is a song by American recording artist Taylor Swift from her fourth studio album Red (2012). It was written by Swift along with Max Martin and Shellback. Production was handled by Martin and Shellback, with Scott Borchetta serving as executive producer. The song was released as the album's fourth single on February 4, 2013 in Australia and in March 2013 in the US and the UK. The lyrics describe the joys of being 22 years old. The song received positive reviews from music critics, who complimented Swift's collaboration with Martin and Shellback and the new pop sound they created for her.

The song has received generally positive reviews from music critics. Idolator gave the song a very positive review, saying "'22' is a thunderous pop track kicking off with a twangy acoustic guitar riff before a propulsive beat that evokes Katy Perry‘s 'Teenage Dream' drops to make way for verses that are cute and likably bratty".
Billboard also has praised the song, saying that it is "Swift's most blatantly pop song of her career", adding "'22' is all about trying to 'forget about the deadlines' and embraces only the most sugary hooks available. Underneath the heel-clicking positivity and shiny production sits the line 'We're happy, free, confused and lonely in the best way', a rather stunning meditation on being in your early 20s that's flicked off like a piece of pre-chorus lint. Even when she's having fun, Swift is succinctly communicating conflicting emotion."
Amy Sciaretto of PopCrush also gave it a positive review, saying that the song starts out "with an acoustic guitar, but quickly escalates into a fun anthem for sleepover parties. There is some requisite twang, which again might appeal to her country base, but this sounds penned for the teens when she sings about being “happy, free, confused and lonely” at the same time. It has the same cadence and energy as the lead single 'We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together' and some class. There is a self-referential sound bite and a clip of the phone ringing saying 'Who's Taylor Swift anyway?'" Digital Spy gave it a positive review, saying ""We're happy free confused and lonely at the same time," Swift acknowledges over perky guitars, before launching into an earworm chant of "twenty twooo-oo-oo" that will stubbornly swirl around your head for hours on end. She may have already achieved more during her youth than most do in their lifetime, but with one more pop smash to add to her repertoire, it seems she's only just getting started.", giving the song four out of five stars.

LYRICS:

It feels like a perfect night to dress up like hipsters
And make fun of our exes, ah ah, ah ah.
It feels like a perfect night for breakfast at midnight
To fall in love with strangers, ah ah, ah ah.

Yeah,
We're happy free confused and lonely at the same time
It's miserable and magical, oh, yeah
Tonight's the night when we forget about the deadlines
It's time

Uh oh!
I don't know about you
But I'm feeling 22
Everything will be alright
You keep me next to you
You don't know about me
But I'll bet you want to
Everything will be alright
We just keep dancing like we're
22
22

It seems like one of those nights,
This place is too crowded.
Too many cool kids, ah ah, ah ah (who's Taylor Swift anyway, ew? )
It seems like one of those nights,
We ditch the whole scene and end up dreaming
Instead of sleeping.

Yeah,
We're happy free confused and lonely in the best way
It's miserable and magical, oh, yeah
Tonight's the night when we forget about the heartbreaks
It's time

Uh oh!
I don't know about you
But I'm feeling 22
Everything will be alright
You keep me next to you
You don't know about me
But I'll bet you want to
Everything will be alright (alright)
We just keep dancing like we're
22
22
I don't know about you
22
22

It feels like one of those nights,
We ditch the whole scene.
It feels like one of those nights,
We won't be sleeping.
It feels like one of those nights,
You look like bad news,
I gotta have you,
I gotta have you.

Ohh ohhh yeaah

I don't know about you
But I'm feeling 22
Everything will be alright
You keep me next to you
You don't know about me (you don't know about me)
But I'll bet you want to
Everything will be alright
We just keep dancing like we're
22
22
22, yeah, yeah
22, yeah, yeah

It feels like one of those nights,
We ditch the whole scene
It feels like one of those nights,
We won't be sleeping
It feels like one of those nights,
You look lïke bad news,
I gotta have you,
I gotta have you.

Selena Gomez - Come and Get It

Come & Get It is a song recorded by American singer Selena Gomez for her upcoming debut solo studio album Stars Dance. It was released on April 8, 2013 by Hollywood Records as the lead single from the album. The song was written by Ester Dean, Mikkel S. Eriksen, and Tor E. Hermansen and was produced by Stargate. "Come & Get It" is a mid-tempo pop song with elements of Indian music; lyrically, it describes a female lover's attempt to rekindle a previously ended romance. Upon its release, "Come & Get It" received favorable reviews from music critics, who praised its musical diversity from Gomez's previous work.

After being released, the song received favorable reviews from music critics, who noted Gomez's maturing image and new sound. Kyle Anderson of Entertainment Weekly described it as "an easy, breezy tune with an ambling melody and a hint of reggae lilt." Jessica Sager of Popcrush gave it a mixed review, stating that "the track is a change and a shift, and it was a risk. Gomez may win new fans with the song since it’s pretty far outside of her usual bubblegum Disney box, and her loyal Selenators will likely eat it up regardless. However, for fans of pure pop, they may want to stick with her ex boyfriend".  Meanwhile, Bradley Stern of MuuMuse.com has referenced it as one of Rihanna's tracks from her sixth studio album Talk That Talk but gave it a positive review, stating that “Come & Get It” is fairly monotone, but repeat listens reveal the song’s infectiousness: The chorus–especially with that stuttered chant at the end–is pure sticky pop goodness, the stomping beat is smutty enough to inspire a sick strut, and that whirring Bollywood-meets-tribal-electro synth sound lends itself well to some grind-up-against-the-wall make-out action up in the club." On-air personality, Peter Dee said, "her breathy vocals are just what the song needed to fuse the Bollywood and electro-pop sound, and make it work."

All day all night I’ll be waitin’ standby
Can’t stop because I love it,
Hate the way I love you
All day all night
Maybe I’m addicted for life,

To show I love you,
I got no regrets.

Much to hide you,
This love ain’t finished yet.
This love ain’t finished yet.
So baby whenever you’re ready…

When you ready come and get it
Na na na na
Na na na na

You got the kind of love that I want
Let me get that.
Let me get that, yeah
And baby once I get it
I’m yours no take backs.
Gon’ love you for life
Ain’t leaving your side
Even if you knock it
Ain’t no way to stop it
Forever you’re mine

To show I love you,
I got no regrets.
So baby whenever you’re ready…

When you ready come and get it
Na na na na
Na na na na
Na na na na
(x3)

This love
Will be the death to me,
But I know
I’ll die happily
I’ll know
I’ll know
I’ll know
Because you love me so…
Yeah!
